Mecbo vs. Putzmeister – which one to choose?

The two brands are not direct substitutes, so the comparison is about the job, not about a ranking.

Putzmeister is one of the largest global manufacturers by sales volume. It has the widest parts availability in Poland, the simplest diagnostics (Ergonic) and the largest service network – the safer choice wherever uptime depends on getting a part and a technician quickly. Its known weak points are the S-valve cutting edge cracking under hard concrete, boom pivot seal leaks after roughly 2000–3000 h, and pressure sensors damaged by over-pressure pipe cleaning.

Mecbo is a high-pressure pump specialist. It is the brand for tunnels, deep foundations, geotechnical works and special concrete (SCC, fibre concrete) – jobs where pumping pressure decides, not the density of the service network. For routine ready-mix work on ordinary sites a Putzmeister, Cifa or Schwing boom pump is the more common answer.

Compared with both, Cifa competes on Carbotech carbon-fibre booms and the Smartronic control system, and Schwing on exceptionally robust hydraulics and simple, maintainable mechanics. Brand-by-brand detail follows below.

Common faults: Carbon fiber boom damage requires section replacement (not repairable by welding), hydraulic cooler filter clogging in dusty conditions.
