Concrete Pump and Pressure Trailers — Shared TDT and Service

Boom concrete pump

In short

Many construction and industrial operators combine concrete pumps with dry bulk transport by silo trailer. On site and in the workshop they are close: the silo trailer delivers binders and dry bulk, the pump places the concrete, and both are linked by TDT and the need for certified welding. PHS Magnum services both groups at one base by the A4. Tel.: +48 602 716 551.

On site these machines complement each other. Dry bulk and binders arrive by bulk material haulage — the silo trailer discharges them pneumatically. Then the concrete pump places the concrete. Whoever controls both links waits less and pays less downtime.

For larger construction projects this combination is standard practice: silo trailers handle long-distance delivery of cement, fly ash and admixtures in bulk, while stationary or boom concrete pumps distribute the mixed concrete precisely on site. The two machines share a job site but traditionally go to different service points when they need maintenance. That costs time and coordination overhead.

Shared TDT supervision

A concrete pump’s concrete cylinder and pressure circuit, and a silo trailer’s pressure vessel, are both subject to TDT (Technical Device Supervision) inspection under Polish law — and both carry EU-recognised certificates valid across DACH and beyond. Instead of separate inspection dates with separate contractors, coordinating both in one service window reduces fleet downtime significantly.

PHS Magnum holds the TDT authorisation for pressure vessels (silo trailers) and coordinates TDT inspections for concrete pumps with accredited inspectors. See the concrete pump TDT inspection guide and TDT inspection overview .

Shared structural welding qualifications

Repairing a concrete pump boom requires certified structural welding — specifically, welders qualified to EN ISO 9606-1 for steel. The same qualification is required when welding silo trailer frames and tanks. A single facility covering both machines eliminates the risk of sending a pump boom to a general engineering shop without pressure-vessel welding experience.

PHS Magnum’s welders hold qualifications for MIG/MAG (steel), TIG (aluminium) and pressure vessel welding. The same team services Spitzer silo trailers , Feldbinder trailers and concrete pumps.

One base, planned maintenance calendar

The workshop in Chorula is 4 km from the A4 motorway junction — convenient for both silo trailer fleets running the A4 corridor and construction companies operating in the Opole and Upper Silesia region. Mixed-fleet customers receive a shared maintenance calendar: annual inspections, TDT windows and consumable replacements (rubber pistons, aeration pads, valves) scheduled to minimise the number of days any machine is off-road.

Common mixed-fleet scenarios

Scenario A — ready-mix concrete producer with own bulk transport A precast or ready-mix operation receives cement by silo trailer (own or contracted) and pumps concrete on site with a stationary or trailer pump. Both machines share the same workshop and TDT calendar.

Scenario B — construction site with hired transport The main contractor owns the concrete pump; bulk materials arrive from a third-party carrier. The pump is serviced locally at PHS Magnum while the carrier’s silo trailers can use the same facility for TDT and emergency repairs.

Scenario C — transport company adding pump rental A haulage company with a silo trailer fleet adds a concrete pump to its service offering. One facility handles the entire fleet.
